Helios and his mother regularly visited his current foster family’s home in search of food during stormy weather. At three months old he was caught and introduced to the amazing life of an indoor cat. Helios is a very playful cat and would need to be played with everyday. One of his favorite toys is his cat wand and he will play with you for over 10 minutes! Helios has strong hunting instincts and will catch any bug he sees. Although very active, he does enjoy a good pet and rub, to which he will start purring. He is especially talkative, he will meow as if he was having a conversation and purr at any given moment. Helios would prefer to be in an only cat household, he does not get along with other cats but would do great in family households with children.

*Helios is FIV+

FIV has a lot of misconceptions that you will find on the internet.  I have worked closely with vets over the past 18+ years and FIV + cats can live long lives with it and can live with other cats.  It is transferred through deep tissue bits which usually occurs with unaltered males during breeding season.  That is the number one way it is transferred as male cats get into pretty vicious fights when unaltered.  The next way is by a mom transferring to her kittens while in utero .  A couple of my vets even have FIV + cats along with theirs who do not have it.  Over the years, they test the other cats and none of them got it.  Over the past 18+ years, I have fostered several FIV + cats with no others getting it.  A few fosters have had the same experience.
